President refuses to resign after months of rioting

The Algerian President says he will not step down amid criticism of his management of two months of rioting that has left dozens dead.

Addressing a rally in the southern city of Tamanrasset, Abdelaziz Bouteflika said he was not "a captain who abandons his sinking ship".
