Bohs' long wait for a home win continues as their winless run stretches to eight as they came from behind to rescue a point.

James Olayinka’s first half strike was cancelled out by Markuss Strods just after the break, with the visitors finishing with 10 men when Adam O’Reilly saw red.

Match-winner back in February, Dawson Devoy, showed just why there is a clamour for him to get into Heimir Hallgrimsson’s next selection, speeding up the game with a sharp one-two before unleashing a powerful strike well held by Eddie Beach.

Devoy’s former teammate James Clarke, who would have enjoyed his winning goal against the Hoops last week, continued his good form and looked a real threat with two early chances - despite receiving a smattering of boos in the Jodi Stand.

But with the game stuck in a lull and half time fast approaching the visitors shocked all inside Dalymount when they broke the deadlock. Darragh Markey firstly found himself free on the right wing before pushing the ball forward to the underlapping Adam O’Reilly.

The busy midfielder cleverly cut the ball back to the edge of the area finding James Olayinka, who had all the time in the world to tee himself up but still shot straight at Kacper Chorazka with the ball somehow squirming under the Polish stopper's body.

Following a barrage of verbals towards their manager at half-time, Dalymount was brought back to life with the introduction of the electric Ross Tierney, picking up the ball on the left, driving at the heart of the Derry defence.

Just as he looked to pull the trigger, Candystripes captain Carl Winchester appeared out of nowhere to block, injuring himself in the process.

Tierney was at it again seconds later, winning a header in midfield knocking the ball down to Colm Whelan who, in turn, cleverly slipped through Markuss Strods in behind who finished expertly into the bottom corner.

With both sides desperate for a winner, tensions boiled over when O’Reilly received his second yellow for a late challenge on Adam McDonnell.

Before both sides were forced to share the spoils, there was still time for one of the most bizarre moments of the season when Pat Hickey, expecting an offside flag, caught the ball as he raced back towards his goal none came in the end sparking outrage from the visitors' bench as the big American received just a yellow for his indiscretion.

BOHEMIANS: Chorazka; Power (Harpur, 87’), Todd, Hickey, Mullen (Byrne, 76’); Devoy, Morahan (McDonnell, 76’); Rooney, Whelan, Strods (Parsons, 87’); James-Taylor (Tierney, 46’)
