Denise O'Sullivan made her WSL debut for Liverpool and she helped earn the rock bottom Merseysiders a first win of the campaign to give Gareth Taylor's side hope in the battle against relegation.
Having scored in the FA Cup demolition of London Bees last week, O'Sullivan started at the heart of Liverpool's midfield as Mia Enderby scored twice in stoppage time to stun Europe-chasing Tottenham.
The Reds had to wait until the fourth minute of added time for their breakthrough when Enderby poked in from Jenna Clark's delivery and soon after made it two when she finished beyond Lize Kop to secure a maiden league win of the campaign after 13 outings.
However, Liverpool stay bottom of the table - one point behind West Ham following their win over Leicester - while Spurs slip into fifth.
Khadija Shaw snatched a late winner as Manchester City stretched their advantage at the top with a 2-1 victory over London City Lionesses.
Kerolin put the league leaders in front in the 11th minute when she latched onto a pass from Vivianne Miedema, but London City deservedly levelled through Freya Godfrey with 22 minutes left to play.
The visitors showed their title-winning quality with four minutes left when Shaw struck the winner to send them nine points clear after second-placed Chelsea were beaten by Arsenal on Saturday.
In WSL2, Kelly Brady made her debut for Crystal Palace in their 4-0 win at home to Durham, with Abbie Larkin among the goals.
Meanwhile in France, Amber Barrett scored as a second-half substitute against Grenoble to put Strasbourg through to the quarter-finals of the French Cup for the first time.
Elsewhere, Troy Parrott nodded an assist for Danish attacker Isak Jensen 12 minutes from time as AZ Alkmaar won 1-0 away to Telstar in the Dutch Eredivisie.
Evan Ferguson remained on the Roma bench as Gian Piero Gasperini's side drew 1-1 at home to AC Milan.
