Moyes: 'I wasn't planning to leave'

David Moyes has been speaking for the first time since being announced as Manchester United's new manager for next season.

The Everton boss will depart Goodison Park on July 1 and has told a news conference "I wasn't planning to leave".

He added "My contract was running out but if you'd pushed me I would've said I was edging towards staying."

Moyes also revealed he has been asked to offer chairman Bill Kenwright advice on his successor.
