Captain Steven Gerrard was the notable absentee from the squad as Liverpool registered four changes for the visit of West Brom and a first return to Anfield of former manager Roy Hodgson.

Goalkeeper Jose Reina, Jose Enrique, Dirk Kuyt and Maxi Rodriguez all came in as Gerrard, Brad Jones, Jamie Carragher and Stewart Downing were left out of the FA Cup semi-final winning team.
