Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has dismissed talk of Manchester United’s demise as “nonsense” after being on the wrong end of a 4-1 scoreline at Old Trafford on Saturday.

United went into the match after several days of criticism following their Champions League exit and the loss of captain Nemanja Vidic to a season-ending injury, but bounced back as Nani and Wayne Rooney scored their first league goals of the season in a convincing display.
