Rooney ruled out of Valencia clash

Wayne Rooney will not travel with the Manchester United squad for the Champions League match against Valencia on Wednesday due to an ankle injury, the club have confirmed on their official website.

Sir Alex Ferguson has told club officials the 24-year-old will not be fit enough to make the trip after being withdrawn with an ankle injury against Bolton on Sunday.
