Jones and Fletcher poised for Hibs exits

Hibernian are braced for a busy day of transfer activity after offers were received for Rob Jones and Steven Fletcher.

Nottingham Forest have made an offer for skipper Jones while Cardiff are reported to have made a bid for Fletcher.

Celtic’s approach for the 21-year-old striker was rebuffed on Friday and Cardiff are said to have beaten the Glasgow club’s price.

West Brom, managed by former Hibs boss Tony Mowbray, have also been linked with a move.

Former Grimsby defender Jones could be on his way to the City Ground as Hibs chief executive Rod Petrie discusses a deal with his Forest counterpart.

Colchester have had two recent bids for Jones rejected but Forest’s bid is reported to be around £600,000.

Forest boss Billy Davies said: “We have made a substantial cash offer for Rob and the two chief executives are talking over the deal.”

Hibs midfielder Dean Shiels is expected to complete a move to Doncaster before the transfer window closes at 5pm.
