Gilberto leaves Arsenal

Midfielder Gilberto has completed his move from Arsenal to Panathinaikos.

The Brazilian, a former Gunners captain, has passed a medical and signed for the Greek club.

Panathinaikos president Nikos Pateras met Gilberto’s representatives last week and thrashed out a deal after Arsenal accepted an offer of around £1m to bring to an end a six-year stay with the Gunners.
