Three-match ban for Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo starts a three-match ban as Manchester United look to record their first win of the season and puncture the 100% record of local rivals City at Eastlands.

With Wayne Rooney (foot), Owen Hargreaves and Louis Saha (both knee), Anderson (hamstring) and Gary Neville (calf) all sidelined, Sir Alex Ferguson’s resources are stretched ahead of the meeting with Sven-Goran Eriksson’s men.

Gabriel Heinze is fit but seems unlikely to be involved ahead of the Premier League meeting on Monday that will determine whether he will be allowed to join Liverpool.
