A review of Cork hurling was called for at Tuesday evening’s Cork County Board meeting.
Three days after the latest second-half collapse of the Cork senior hurlers, one delegate at the behind-closed-doors meeting of the county board sought a discussion around Cork hurling.
The review suggestion was similar to last year when club delegates looked for a special meeting devoted to Cork football.
In July of last year, and in response to repeated calls for a detailed examination of Cork football, the executive produced a 2,000-word report on the state of Cork football which admitted that two of the key pillars of the 2019-24 five-year plan had not been met.
Whether any future meeting of the county board prioritises a Cork hurling discussion remains to be seen.
Separately at this month’s meeting of the Cork County Board, the executive said that with all Cork teams finished for the year, the annual review of the respective inter-county campaigns will now take place.
