No Italy return for Rossi

Giuseppe Rossi is unlikely to return to Italy next season despite his recent successful loan spell with Parma.

While it is almost certain the Manchester United striker will leave Old Trafford, the queue of Serie A clubs lining up for his services are set to be left disappointed, according to his agent, Federico Pastorello.

“There are a lot of foreign clubs interested in him and I think his future will be abroad [outside Italy],” Pastorello said.

Parma had reportedly bid £5.4m for the Italy Under-21 star, whose nine goals in 19 games for them last season effectively saved the Ducale from relegation to the second division.

This offer was not accepted, however, and speculation that the hitman might move to Napoli or Fiorentina appears to have little foundation.

Rossi now looks set to either stay in the Premier League or seal a move to a Spanish Primera Liga outfit.

“Lots of English and Spanish clubs are on his trail and I am confident of closing a deal as soon as possible – maybe before tomorrow,” added Pastorello in an interview broadcast on Radioblu today.
