Walton joins Bluebirds

Cardiff have signed Charlton midfielder Simon Walton on loan until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old, who has only just returned from a four-month loan spell at Ipswich, joined the Addicks from Leeds for £500,000 (€750,000) in July 2006.

Since returning from the Suffolk club, Walton has struggled to break into manager Alan Pardew’s plans and has opted for a loan move to the Coca-Cola Championship club to gain first-team experience.
