Bardsley blow for Villa

New Aston Villa signing Phil Bardsley has been forced to delay his first appearance for the club.

Bardsley, signed on loan from Manchester United for the remainder of the season, had been pencilled in to play for the reserves in tonight’s clash with Fulham at Villa Park to help him obtain match-sharpness.

But the game has been postponed after the visitors were unable to field a team due to injury and sickness.

Right-back Bardsley is ineligible to play in Saturday’s away Barclays Premiership clash with United at Old Trafford and is set to make his senior debut against Watford on January 20.
