Everton: We take Carling Cup very seriously

Everton have underlined the growing importance of the Carling Cup to clubs outside the Premiership’s big four by insisting they take the competition deadly seriously.

Shunned at times by the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool – who field weaker sides until they get in sight of the final - Everton cannot afford to do anything of the sort.
