Progress of Best’s condition ‘disappointing’

Doctors treating football legend George Best say the next 24 hours are critical for his recovery.

Professor Roger Williams said this evening that he is disappointed with his progress and that he must show some improvement soon or there is not much hope.

The 59-year-old is in hospital with an infection following his liver transplant three years ago.

The former Man United and Northern Ireland player is unconscious and on a life support machine.
