Rangers warned off Premiership managers
Charlton and Everton have warned Rangers away from their managers as Alex McLeish prepares for three games which could save his job.
Ibrox chairman David Murray has told the manager his situation will be assessed at the end of the month following games against Celtic, Porto and Hibernian.
The Glasgow giants are 12 points behind Bank of Scotland Premier League leaders Celtic and Hearts, while the Hoops have already knocked them out of the CIS Insurance Cup.
But Murray was reluctant to axe McLeish with the team sitting second in Group H of the Champions League ahead of the final two matches in the section.
Murray is a long-time admirer of Charlton boss Alan Curbishley but Addicks chairman Martin Simons cannot see the former West Ham player moving north of the border after 15 years at The Valley.
Simons said: âAlan would feel privileged (to be linked), but he is happy in London and I donât see him going to Glasgow.â
Curbishley has previously been linked with Tottenham and West Ham. Only a sequence of lame finishes have prevented him pushing Charlton into the top six and a place in Europe during recent seasons.
The Addicks made a fine start to the current campaign, winning their first five away games in a row before knocking Chelsea out of the Carling Cup on penalties at Stamford Bridge.
But home form yielded just four points out of 15 available plus a Carling Cup win over Hartlepool before their away run ended with a 4-1 beating at Blackburn.
Meanwhile, Everton have also moved to dismiss reports linking manager David Moyes with a move to Ibrox.
The Everton boss, who is a former Celtic player, is struggling to replicate the form which took the Goodison Park side into the top four of the Barclays Premiership last season.
But Goodison Park chief executive Keith Wyness has ruled out his chances of succeeding McLeish.
Wyness said: âThere has been no contact whatsoever from Glasgow Rangers, nor would we welcome any.
âDavid Moyes is under contract here at Goodison Park for the next four years and, after the progress that has been made since his arrival, everyone here at the club hopes he sees that out.â
