Martin O’Neill took a gamble in handing new Bhoy Craig Bellamy his debut in today’s Bank of Scotland Premier League top-of-the-table Old Firm showdown at Parkhead.

Martin O’Neill took a gamble in handing new Bhoy Craig Bellamy his debut in today’s Bank of Scotland Premier League top-of-the-table Old Firm showdown at Parkhead.

The temperamental Welsh international striker has not played since joining on loan from Newcastle before the transfer deadline but he and Jackie McNamara came in for Aiden McGeady and Stephane Henchoz with Chris Sutton dropping back into the midfield.

Rangers star Barry Ferguson was hoping to outshine Bellamy on his Glasgow derby return as manager Alex McLeish named the same side which crushed Hibernian at Ibrox last week.
