Sinama-Pongolle out for the season

Liverpool today officially confirmed they will be without French striker Florent Sinama-Pongolle for the rest of season.

The 20-year-old underwent exploratory surgery yesterday to ascertain how much damage was done to his knee ligaments in the Carling Cup semi-final second leg at Watford earlier in the week.
