The eircom League has held off appointing an acting chairman but has called a Special General Meeting for next week.

The League’s Management Committee met on Monday night to discuss the resignation on Friday of Declan Ó Luanaigh from the post and his place on the FAI’s Board of Management.

They issued a statement afterwards which said : “The eircom League Management Committee took the decision to hold a Special General Meeting on Thursday, November 18 with a view to effect rule changes to facilitate the election of a chairman of the eircom League until the League AGM in February 2005.”
