New deal for triumphant Marseille coach

Marseille coach Jose Anigo has been given a new one-year contract after guiding the French team to a UEFA Cup semi-final against Newcastle.

Although club president Christophe Bouchet insisted that victory over Inter Milan was not a telling factor in his decision, the aftermath of Wednesday night’s game was still an apt time to announce the deal.
