Leeds star Smith avoids prosecution

Leeds striker Alan Smith is to avoid prosecution relating to a bottle-throwing incident during the Carling Cup clash against Manchester United on October 28.

Smith was seen picking up a plastic bottle which had landed on the Elland Road pitch and hurling it back into the crowd, where it coincidentally hit the sister of one of his best friends.
