United get €16m Beckham lump sum

Manchester United have reached agreement with Real Madrid to receive £11m (€16m) of the transfer fee for David Beckham in a lump sum today.

United were originally due to receive a £12m (€17m) payment in equal instalments over four years but will now receive the money up front.
