Aidan McCarthy hoping for Clare return in 2027

McCarthy was not involved with the Clare hurlers in 2026. He hopes that will change next year. For now, he's concentrating on winning a Clare SHC title with Inagh-Kilnamona

It is 16 months since Aidan McCarthy felt the need to clarify that he had not walked off the Clare panel before a Munster championship game, having lined out with his club on the same day.

Before Clare’s defeat to Tipperary in the Munster championship, McCarthy lined out for Inagh-Kilnamona. He explained at the time he was “willing, ready and able” to line out for Clare. The sharpshooter was not involved for 2026.
