Birmingham were robbed of their first Barclaycard Premiership win by a bizarre injury-time equaliser from 10-ten man Everton.

Dave Unsworth’s 25-yarder crashed against a post, bounced out and hit Kenny Cunningham before crashing back over the line.

Birmingham had taken the lead with a second-half penalty from Stern John, awarded after Alan Stubbs had dragged the Trinidad striker down in the box and then been sent off by referee Eddie Wolstenholme.

Li Tie lashed a 30-yard effort just wide and Radzinski got into the box to slide a clever shot inches past the far post.

Birmingham brought on Clinton Morrison for Geoff Horsfield on 78 minutes and six minutes from time Rodrigo took over from Gary Naysmith, Everton throwing another striker on.

Rooney and Rodrigo both went close before Everton’s equaliser.

Unsworth lashed a shot from outside the box in added time, it smashed against the post and bounced back onto Kenny Cunningham and then back over the line.
