Leeds rubbish Barca Harte claims

Leeds United have denied newspaper reports that Spanish giants Barcelona are lining up an £8m (€12.5m) bid for Irish international defender Ian Harte.

Newspapers claimed talks had taken place between representatives of both clubs over a move for Harte.

Barca boss Louis Van Gaal is an admirer of Harte and wants the deal to go through before the start of the Spanish season, which starts in the first week in September.

Terry Venables has already targeted Lazio's Argentine defender Juan Pablo Sorin as a possible replacement, if Harte moves to the Nou Camp.
