Fergie: You haven't won it yet
Alex Ferguson has warned Arsenal against thinking they already have the double sewn up.
Arsenal yesterday secured the first half of their goal by claiming the FA Cup with a 2-0 victory over Chelsea in Cardiff.
And just a draw against Manchester United on Wednesday will mean that Barclaycard Premiership title is also headed for Highbury for the first time in four years.
But United boss Ferguson, who is desperate to ensure that the Gunners do not wrap up the double at Old Trafford, said: "Arsenal are in pole position - there's no doubt about that.
"But they haven't won it yet and we have to make sure they are taken all the way to the final day.
"There is still plenty for us to play for and we certainly haven't given up on the title yet.
"We will be doing our best to beat them on Wednesday and force them into having to take something from their last game against Everton on Saturday.
"Who knows what might happen then? There have been some surprising results this season - maybe it isn't the foregone conclusion people think it is."
Ferguson also slammed criticism levelled at Juan Sebastian Veron, whose future at Old Trafford has recently been under the spotlight.
He added in The Mail on Sunday: "Some of the criticism of Seba has been nothing short of ridiculous.
"I thought he was one of our best players in the European Cup semi-final in Leverkusen.
"He never stopped running and working. He had been struggling with an injury that had been troubling him for weeks but it didn't stop him giving everything he had."
Veron himself believes Arsenal can still crack under the pressure.
He told the News of the World: "You can always get surprises in football and teams can drop points when you least expect it.
"It may well be that as we come to the death, nerves could work against them."
The Argentinian international claimed he had already turned his attention to next season.
"We'll start off again next season with the same hope and desire to lift trophies in the Manchester United shirt.
"It is tremendous to think that the European Cup final next year will be here at Old Trafford.
"It would be a dream come true for the fans and the players - to play in the final at our own ground, in front of our own fans."
