Soccer: Keane withdraws from squad for Denmark friendly

Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane has withdrawn from the Irish squad for the friendly international against Denmark in Lansdowne Road next Wednesday.

The United captain missed his club’s Champions League game against Boavista on Tuesday with a hip injury and needs time to recover.

His withdrawal from the Irish squad means he is also likely to miss United’s Premiership clash with Middlesbrough on Saturday.
