Premiership: Westerveld to bid goodbye to Anfield

Out-of-favour Liverpool goalkeeper Sander Westerveld is said to be on the verge of a move to Spanish side Real Sociedad.

The deal for the former Anfield number one is expected to be around £3m.

The Dutch keeper is now the third choice keeper at Liverpool after the club bought Jerzy Dudek and Chris Kirkland over the summer.

Ajax and Olympiakos have also both been linked with Westerveld but John Toshack's Sociedad seem favourites to land the star in a permanent deal.
