Soccer: Danish star to stay and fight
Peter Lovenkrands has turned his back on a possible move to Inter Milan
because he wants to impress at Rangers instead.
The San Siro side are just one of a number of clubs who are interested
in the Ibrox striker after his three performances for the Danish Under-21
side.
But, although the youngster has found it difficult to break into the
first team and has been troubled by injury during his time at Rangers, he
insists he wants to stay at the Govan club and fight for his place in the
team.
His agent Ivan Benes said: ‘‘Inter have watched him play the last three
matches for the Danish Under-21s. He scored every time and was
outstanding.
‘‘A lot of other top European clubs, including Ajax and Borussia, have
also made enquiries about Peter.
‘‘I told Peter that Inter were interested but he told me he wanted to
stay at Rangers and show what he is capable of.
‘‘The chance of a move like that would make a lot of players go weak at
the knees but Peter loves it in Glasgow.
‘‘He thinks he can learn a lot from Dick Advocaat at Rangers and he is
confident he can score goals when he gets a run in the first team.’’
