Soccer: Jennings to the rescue for Hatters

Pat Jennings may be set to join Luton manager Joe Kinnear’s coaching staff to help the Hatters regain former glories.

The former Northern Ireland goalkeeper, once a Tottenham team-mate of Kinnear, is one option for the Hatters as they eye an immediate return to the Nationwide League Second Division following relegation last month.

Kinnear said: ‘‘I met Pat at the Football Writers dinner and asked him if he would like to help out and he is very keen to do so.

‘‘He would be coming in as a freelance to work with the goalkeepers a couple of days a week and pass on some of his vast knowledge.’’
