Kevin Doyle woe as Jackett admits striker not in his plans

The Wexford man returned from loan at Crystal Palace last month with the South London club rejecting the opportunity to extend the loan.
With little interest in Doyle before the transfer window closed, the forward faces little football for the rest of the season, even though Wolves have put four strikers on loan.
Doyle could still be loaned to a Championship club or an overseas side but as he earns a reported €50,000 per week it would be difficult to find a team. It is unlikely his contract will be cancelled like team-mate Roger Johnson’s earlier this week.
“I wouldn’t hesitate to use Kevin Doyle if I thought it was the right thing,” said manager Kenny Jackett.
“He has come back with a good attitude and trained with the U21s today. Do I think I will use him on Saturday? It is unlikely.”
Jackett added: “I’m sure our club spoke to his agent on a regular basis as all agents do.
“The level of interest never got to a high one as far as I am aware. It was quite quiet really.”
The former Cork City player has stated that he would not have been prepared to join a club in January and live away from home as his wife is ready to give birth.
