Robson: Bellamy in ‘Toon’ with Newcastle
One Sunday newspaper report suggested the Welsh international who was suspended from yesterday's season-ending 2-2 draw with West Bromwich Albion might be offloaded in the summer because of his poor disciplinary record.
Robson professed no knowledge of the report and added: "I have no knowledge of Craig Bellamy wanting to go away and I have no knowledge of anybody wanting to buy Craig Bellamy.
"It (the story) has no foundation and it is an attempt to sell newspapers."
Robson's Champions League-bound side were spared their blushes at The Hawthorns by Hugo Viana's superb free-kick equaliser with nine minutes left on the clock.
Albion substitute Scott Dobie had struck twice in the second half to cancel out Jermaine Jenas' opener and put the home side within touching distance of their first Premiership home win since November.
And Robson admitted the fact that his side had nothing to play for would not have affected his anger levels if the Magpies had come away with nothing.
Robson said: "I would have been very angry having finished third and losing the last match to a team who have been relegated.
"That would have meant we were going nowhere. WEST BROM: Hoult, Sigurdsson, Wallwork, James Chambers (Udeze 81), Lyttle, McInnes, Koumas, Johnson, Clement, Taylor (Dobie 30), Dichio.
