Hartson takes Bellamy under his wing

CELTIC striker John Hartson has warned Craig Bellamy he will need to change his ways if he is to survive life in Glasgow.

Hartson was thrilled to see his fellow Wales international join Celtic on loan until the end of the season and he believes Old Firm rivals Rangers should be quaking at the news.

But Hartson has also been quick to take on the role of minder for Bellamy to ensure he copes with the switch north of the border.

Hartson said: "Craig has to be careful where he eats, drinks and mixes. I've been here four years now and you simply cannot afford to go around like he does and say the things he does. I'll be having a word.

"Craig is not an 18 or 19-year-old anymore. He's 25 and needs to take stock of things. He is a great footballer with undoubted talent and, if I was a Rangers fan, I would be worried."

Meanwhile, Juninho has revealed he has finally held clear-the-air talks with Martin O'Neill. The out-of-favour star is determined to show the Hoops boss he is wrong to leave him out of his team.

The Brazilian World Cup-winner has been frustrated on the bench, reporting he has received no support from O'Neill since his move from Middlesbrough.

Juninho accused O'Neill of keeping him in the dark over his decision to drop him and threatened to quit Parkhead during the January transfer window if he had no future at Celtic.

But the pair have begun to communicate, and Juninho has renewed confidence he can still be a success this season.

"We had a chat, and I think it was good for both of us to speak about what was happening," said the midfielder.

Juninho does regret speaking out publicly before making his feelings known to the manager.

"My only mistake was not to tell him about it first, but when you are upset you don't think clearly about such things," he said.

Juninho has made no secret of his desire to end his career in Brazil, and a return to his homeland with Botafogo was one option available to him last month.

He had also been linked with a move to Manchester City, which appeared a more likely destination. But the play-maker has no intention of leaving Celtic labelled a failure.
