Newcastle target Juventus’s Kapo

NEWCASTLE are targeting Juventus and France midfielder Olivier Kapo, according to the player himself.

The 24-year-old, who has struggled for playing time with the Italian giants, is reconsidering his future in the face of interest from a number of clubs including, he claims, Graeme Souness’s side.

“Newcastle want me, as well as Betis Seville. I am going to have to make a choice,” he said.

“On the other hand Pavel (Nedved) tells me to fight and stay with Juventus.”

The former Auxerre player, who has nine caps for Les Bleus, also claims Monaco are interested in bringing him back to France.

Meanwhile, Manchester City’s Kiki Musampa has been called up for Holland’s three-day training camp ahead of next month’s World Cup qualifiers.

Manager Marco Van Basten will name his 18-man squad for June’s World Cup qualifiers against Romania and Finland on May 27.
