Redknapp says he has much more to offer

SOUTHAMPTON midfielder Jamie Redknapp believes he is not yet firing on all cylinders despite opening his account during the FA Cup victory at Northampton.
Redknapp says he has much more to offer

The 31-year-old former England midfielder joined the Saints on a free transfer from Tottenham last week but has yet to regain full match fitness after knee problems.

He made his debut in the 3-3 draw against Fulham at St Mary’s and completed the full 90 minutes. And although he was withdrawn after 56 minutes at Sixfields, the visitors had already made sure of progressing to the fourth round with his goal and earlier strikes from Kevin Phillips and Peter Crouch.

Lee Williamson had brought the home side level just a minute after Phillips opened the scoring in the first half.

“It was my first goal for the club so it meant a lot and I think you could probably have gathered that from the way I celebrated,” Redknapp said.
