Under-strength All Blacks comprehensively beat Scotland
FT: Scotland 6 New Zealand 32
Scotland paid the price for missed chances and sloppy defending against an under-strength New Zealand as their first Bank of Scotland Corporate Autumn Test ended in a resounding defeat.
Anthony Tuitavake grabbed an early try after Scotland centre Nick De Luca had been sent to the sin bin and Piri Weepu crossed to put the All Blacks firmly in the driving seat.
Scotland failed to capitalise on intense pressure when New Zealand were temporarily reduced in number and they conceded two soft tries during a second half in which they had a sizeable chunk of possession.
Scotland had a let-off when All Blacks replacement Corey Jane dropped Liam Messam’s pass on the try line as he seemed certain to notch his first points for his country.
However, the introduction of skipper McCaw had helped ease the pressure on the visitors and prop Allan Jacobsen became the second Scotland player to limp off.
Hadden’s men skirted around the opposition 22 for a while before Boric broke through a big gap in the home defence to show the hosts how to finish in the 73rd minute.
Donald’s conversion rounded off the scoring as the visitors comfortably saw out the closing stages.
