Leicester scrum-half Harry Ellis is relishing the opportunity to work with new Tigers backs coach Pat Howard.

After enjoying stints with the ACT Brumbies and Montferrand, Howard has returned to Welford Road to assist John Wells in bringing back the glory days to Leicester.

Ellis hopes the former Wallaby will reveal some of the tricks used by scrum-half master George Gregan, who played alongside Howard for the Brumbies and Australia.

“We’ve made some excellent signings over the off-season and we have a great management and conditioning team,” he says.

“I’m especially excited about working with Pat, who could show me a thing or two from his time at the Brumbies with George Gregan.”
