URC team news: Trio set for Munster debuts as McMillan names squad for Glasgow opener

Munster boss Clayton McMillan has handed front-row signings Kieran Brookes and Marnus van Merwe their debuts with academy fly-half Charlie O’Shea also in line for a first competitive senior appearance when Glasgow Warriors visit Thomond Park on Saturday (5:30pm) for the opening round of the new URC season.

Former England international Brookes, 36, will start at tighthead following a summer move from Top 14 side Perpignan with South African international hooker van der Merwe among the replacements having joined from URC rivals Scarlets in pre-season.
