Trimble aims to impress

IRELAND winger Andrew Trimble hopes to vent his frustrations this afternoon when he lines-out against the Scarlets in Llanelli.

Virtually ignored during the World Cup, Trimble returns for some action on the right wing while Paddy Wallace partners Nevin Spence in midfield and Springbok Ruan Pienaar joins Ian Humphreys at half-back. Coach Brian McLaughlin goes left field in selecting Scotland winger Simon Danielli at full-back in place of Adam D’Arcy.

“I think I do have a point to prove but if I don’t want to get side tracked, I don’t want to be doing anything that I haven’t been doing, I don’t want to have to force myself to be confident despite not getting that many opportunities,” said Trimble.
