Kingsley clinches cup as Munsters bridge 13-year gap

YOUNG MUNSTER claimed the Limerick Charity Cup for the first time in 13 years with a dogged 11-10 win over UL Bohemian at Thomond Park on Saturday.

Alan Kingsley’s penalty three minutes from time proved the match-winning score as a fancied Bohs outfit suffered heartbreak for the second successive weekend, having also lost by a point to UCC in the Munster Senior Cup.

Kingsley and Fergal Lawlor swapped penalties to leave the sides deadlocked early in the second half, but a well-taken try by Martin McPhail, converted by Ed Torrie, put UL ahead.
