Cheika set for Welsh ‘war’

CARDIFF Arms Park has been a graveyard for Leinster’s Magners League ambitions this past two seasons and coach Michael Cheika accepts that they will be up against it again when they return to the Welsh capital this Friday.

The Irish province lost the penultimate game of the 2006 season to the Blues, a result which stymied their title ambitions, and they suffered a repeat dosage last May when defeat allowed the Ospreys to finish top.

The Welsh regions have already played three games this season — two more than their Irish and Scottish counterparts — but Cardiff are the only one of the four with a 100% record which has given them an early nine-point buffer in the table.
