Laporte regrets fury at fans

BERNARD LAPORTE has apologised for the expletive-laden attack he aimed at French rugby fans after Saturday’s Six Nations defeat of Ireland.

Laporte regrets fury at fans

France’s head coach was furious with the Stade de France crowd for jeering Frederic Michalak as he was substituted during the dramatic 43-31 win. The 23-year-old looked to be struggling as Ireland fought back from 43-3 behind and was withdrawn 13 minutes from time.

Laporte felt that was no excuse for the supporters’ harsh reaction and blasted sections of the crowd after the game, but he now insists his comments were said in the heat of the moment.
