Bolger horse given York go-ahead

Trading Leather is on course for the Juddmonte International Stakes at York on August 21.

Jim Bolger’s three-year-old landed the Irish Derby in June and lost nothing in defeat when beating all bar Novellist in the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot.

A son of Teofilo, Bolger’s champion juvenile, Trading Leather will then head to Leopardstown for the Red Mills Irish Champion Stakes on September 7.

“He’s very well,” Bolger told At The Races.

“He’s not one he could run as often as say a Dawn Approach but he’s fairly hardy.

“He’ll be well up for it the next day.

“It will be York next and then on to Leopardstown.”
