Newcastle 'very optimistic' of racing

Newcastle officials remain “very optimistic” their meeting on Saturday will go ahead – despite having called a precautionary inspection at 8am.

With the entire course set to be covered by frost sheets, clerk of the course James Armstrong believes the jumps fixture has a fine chance of defeating the elements.
