Mountain on top at Windsor

Louis-Philippe Beuzelin helped the John Dunlop team maintain their hot streak today with the seventh winner of the past fortnight at Windsor.

Division one of the Trainer Magazine Now On iTunes Nursery featured a clutch of juveniles with the requisite three runs before making a handicap debut, one of which was Mountain Range (8-1).

He came with a powerful effort on the outside, beating 15-8 favourite Jacobs Son by a length.

"He got stopped in his run at Goodwood last time, but this was nice and smooth," said Beuzelin, who is likely to head off for sunnier climes fairly shortly.

"The confidence was gone at the start of the season, but I'm enjoying it now," he added.

"I've still got my claim, so there's no real point in wasting it now and I could go to work with (Patrick) Biancone at Gulfstream in the winter."

Division two delivered a slightly unexpected one-two for Richard Hannon as 20-1 shot Aldwick Bay led home Dr Darcey at 16-1.

But there only looked to be one winner at the top of the straight as Pat Dobbs asked Aldwick Bay the question and he ended up landing the prize by two and three-quarter lengths.

"They are two horses that have not really shown their best up until today," said Hannon's son and assistant Richard junior.

"The winner never looked like getting beat but the second horse has only just been cut (gelded) so he could improve a bit for that. Very pleasing."

Things have picked up a little for Robert Mills lately and Sensational Love gave his Epsom stable their third winner of the month, all of which have been at Windsor.

Sensational Love (9-1) was fourth at Folkestone last time and was moved to the fore by a confident-looking Robert Havlin in the European Breeders' Fund Maiden Stakes, although she was pushed all the way to the line by 15-8 favourite Ceffyl Gwell, who ran her to within a nose.

"It has been a transitional period since we lost dad (trainer Terry) but this is great because her owner Julian Harley has been with us a long time and had a share in Where Or When," said Mills.

"She broke so well it took her straight to the front at Folkestone last time, which we didn't want.

"She's a big girl and could make quite a nice sprinter next year."
