Miranda's Girl wins for Cleary family

The G.P.T. Cork Handicap was a real family affair as Miranda's Girl won for the Cleary family.

Trained by Tom Cleary and ridden by his son Rory, the three-year-old sprinted clear up the straight to win impressively, beating Drunken Sailor by four lengths.

The victory was all the more poignant as Rory’s brother Sean tragically lost his life as a result of head injuries sustained in a fall at the track in October 2003.
