Drever set for Ceeve challenge

Inglis Drever is to be primed for next month’s Cleeve Hurdle at Cheltenham - where he is likely come up against the unbeaten Black Jack Ketchum.

Last year’s World Hurdle winner, trained by Howard Johnson and owned by Graham and Andrea Wylie, put up a fine display on his one start this season when landing the Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury.

He is now set to run against Jonjo O’Neill’s Black Jack Ketchum at Cheltenham on January 27, before the pair reoppose at Prestbury Park for the Ladbrokes World Hurdle at the Festival in March.

Johnson told the Racing Post: “Inglis Drever will go for the Cleeve Hurdle where he will take on Black Jack Ketchum.

“The opportunities are limited but he has to go somewhere and he is better left-handed and likes Cheltenham.

“I don’t think he would have another run then before the Festival.

“He has been in good order since Newbury. He legs have stood up well, we’ve just had a lot of wet weather.”
