Soapy 'progressing satisfactorily'
Soapy Danger is reported to be making good progress after undergoing surgery on an injured leg.
Mark Johnston’s promising three-year-old sustained a fracture to his near-fore pastern when sent off the 4-1 third-favourite in Tuesday’s Great Voltigeur at York, in which he finished fifth behind Youmzain.
While connections are hopeful the Danzig colt will be able to return to action next year, Gary Coffey, racing manager to owner Renata Jacobs, stressed no firm prognosis can be made at this early stage.
“Soapy Danger had surgery to a near-fore pastern fracture,” he confirmed.
“He has made a good recovery from surgery and is progressing satisfactorily.
“We are most grateful to Mark’s team and to the vets at York and Greenwood And Ellis for their great care in difficult circumstances.
“A decision about his future racing career is for another day.”
