Dettori takes day out of the saddle
Frankie Dettori will not be in action at Brighton as he has a touch of influenza.
The Italian was due to take four rides at the seaside track, but a combination of a draining few weeks and the illness – which claimed Martin Dwyer as a victim yesterday – have led him to take the day off.
“He has just had a bit of ‘flu,” said Dettori’s agent Ray Cochrane. “Some of the other jockeys have had it too, so he is just having an easy day today.
“He has had a busy few weeks and some important rides are coming up next week, but hopefully he will be back tomorrow.”
